Rainier Vista
Pacific, Washington
Completion: 2003
To address the growing need for senior housing in the southern part of King County, Washington, Rainier Vista was designed and built as a 75-unit, mixed-income facility.
Taking into account the wide spread of household incomes in the area, Pacific Housing Advisors utilized 9 percent tax credits for 50 of the units (with affordability stretching from 30 percent to 60 percent of median) and offered the additional 24 units at market rents.
The increased equity from the 9 percent tax credits provided much needed funds for the cost of new construction as well as a sizeable activity center, landscaped courtyard and community garden plots for hands-on gardening by residents.
Funding for the project was provided by Alliant Capital, Key Bank of Washington and Washington Community Reinvestment Association.
