Pacific Housing Advisors provides independent financial consulting to developers of affordable housing. As independent advisors, we are able to focus on the specific long- and short-term needs of our clients—developers and their projects. Located in Seattle, with offices in San Diego and Honolulu, Pacific Housing Advisors works with both for-profit and non-profit developers.
Expertise. Pacific Housing Advisors offers expertise in tax-exempt bond financing for affordable housing projects, as well as 4 percent and 9 percent low-income housing tax credits involving both new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation projects.
We find our niche where complex financial structuring is required, often in combination with multiple regulatory layers involving current government-assisted housing. Our team is at the forefront of efforts to preserve affordability and improve housing quality in existing HUD and Rural Development projects.
Experience. Founded by Stephen R. Whyte in 1993, Pacific Housing Advisors has consulted on more than 100 projects around the country. Our senior staff includes three former accountants and three developers from national companies, each of whom has in excess of ten years in affordable housing. As a result of our experience, we have an extensive network of resources that we can draw from to facilitate every phase of the development process through to the financial closing.
Innovation. Pacific Housing Advisors uses its own proprietary financial model to assess and confirm each affordable housing project's feasibility. This model provides an insightful view—from a developer's perspective—of the project, its profitability, and its potential risk points.
